Hello and thanks for popping by. I am currently working in a fantastic SEN school. I have worked teaching little minds from EYFS to 18 years old. I have taught inner city, EAL, high FSM/PP, and across many ages in different role. I love working with children! I hope my resources manage to save time and encourage children to think creatively. The children I have taught so far have loved them and I hope yours do too. Thanks for viewing or buying and please leave reviews if you find the time.

Place value and numbers as words activities

This resource can be used in multiple ways. The place value activity allows children to work practically with dienes to draw and recognise place value. It will also allow children to recognise the given place value in a number- for example just highlighting the hundreds, tens or ones. The numbers as words resource also covers odd and even numbers and allows children to match the numbers to each word. The word mats/ charts and card can be laminated and placed into a tuff spot tray or organised as a class group as part of a hide and seek activity.

Included in this download is a worksheet. Some supporting number cards and ordinal number cards that can be used for a hide and find activity with the children practicing lining up in order. These can also be used in a tuff spot. I have also included some practical scenario cards. Thank you for downloading and if you find the time please leave a review.

Place value lesson, worksheets and number cards

Last year I decided to colour number cards so they were easier for myself and the children to sort as they were carrying out tasks. The yellow cards are 1-20, Blue cards are 21-50 and red cards are 51-100. I laminated 5 sets of these and they worked wonders in my classroom. I have also attached a place value lesson with the teacher input. I would move all the dienes into the bin afterwards so the children would ignore these ones on the screen. Hope this saves some time. Many thanks for buying.

I display this on the board as a morning starter and then go through the answers with the children on the Interactive White board before starting my lesson. Three days are fact families showing the 8 related facts. Please note before buying these use the smart notebook Interactive White board programme to work.
